Stata Dataset Preview
CosmoQuickView renders Stata datasets as a metadata card: release, byte order, variable and observation counts plus the variable-name table. Data records are not parsed.
Supported file extensions
.dta
What you see
- DTA format release (117, 118 or 119) and byte order from the header
- Number of variables (K) and observations (N)
- Dataset label when one is embedded
- Variable-name table listing the first 100 variables with an overflow line beyond that
- Only the first 4 MB of the file is scanned for header blocks
